Transactions around the MLB

Below are all the transaction news from MLB since Friday. NExt time I will just combine them into one day, instead of breaking them into two groups. A lot of moves on Friday, on Sunday the Brewers traded for Ray Durham...I am not sure what impact Durham will provide.

Signings- purchased contracts
Sunday
  1. Brewers Acquired second baseman Ray Durham from the San Francisco Giants for pitcher Steve Hammond and outfielder Darren Ford.

Saturday

  1. Baltimore Acquired infielder Juan Castro from the Colorado Rockies for infielder Mike McCoy; purchased the contract of Castro from Norfolk of the International League (AAA); sent outright infielder Freddie Bynum to Norfolk; activated pitcher Randor Bierd from the 15-day disabled list; placed pitcher Greg Aquino on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 13.

Friday

  1. Cleveland- Recalled infielder Asdrubal Cabrera from Buffalo of the International League (AAA).
  2. Colorado- Recalled pitcher Juan Morillo from Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League (AAA); designated pitcher Mark Redman for assignment.
  3. Florida- Recalled pitcher Jesus Delgado from Carolina of the Southern League (AA).
  4. Houston- Signed pitcher Daniel Meszaros and assigned him to Tri-City of the New York-Penn League (A).
  5. Yankees Signed first baseman Richie Sexson; optioned pitcher Billy Traber to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre of the International League (AAA); transferred pitcher Phil Hughes to the 60-day disabled list.
  6. Pirates- Recalled pitcher Marino Salas from Indianapolis of the International League (AAA).
  7. San Diego- Recalled pitcher Clay Hensley from Portland of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).
  8. Seattle- Recalled first baseman Bryan LaHair from Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League (AAA). (Like he will make a difference)

  1. White Sox-Placed pitcher Jose Contreras on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 18; recalled pitcher D.J. Carrasco from Charlotte of the International League (AAA); optioned pitcher Adam Russell to Charlotte.
  2. Seattle Activated pitcher J.J. Putz from the 15-day disabled list; optioned pitcher Ryan Rowland Smith to Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).
  3. Tampa Bay Placed pitcher Gary Glover on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 11; activated pitcher Troy Percival from the 15-day disabled list.
  4. Texas- Activated pitcher Vicente Padilla from the 15-day disabled list; optioned infielder German Durham to Oklahoma of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).

  3. Houston- Placed pitcher Roy Oswalt on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 12.

  7. Tampa Bay- Activated pitcher Al Reyes from the 15-day disabled list.
  8. Texas- Activated third baseman Hank Blalock from the 15-day disabled list; purchased the contract of catcher Taylor Teagarden from Oklahoma of the Pacific Coast League (AAA); optioned pitcher Kameron Loe to Oklahoma; designated pitcher Joselo Diaz for assignment.
